1 Day Sea Kayaking in Koh Chang

Paddle from Salakphet through a traditional fishing village and mangrove waterways to quiet islands, hidden beaches and the less-visited southeastern coast of Koh Chang — your perfect first taste of sea kayaking in paradise.

Overview

Discover Koh Chang Beyond the Tourist Trail

This full-day guided sea kayaking trip begins at the S.E.A. Kayaking base in Salakphet, a peaceful fishing community on the southeastern coast of Koh Chang, Thailand.

After preparing the kayaks and receiving a safety briefing, we paddle through Salakphet fishing village and into the surrounding mangrove waterways. From there, the journey continues into the open sea towards Koh Phrao Nai and Koh Phrao Nok — two quiet islands rarely visited by most travellers. Koh Phrao Nok is also known locally as White Sand Island.

Depending on the group’s paddling ability, sea conditions and weather, we may continue to other nearby islands and stop at one of the area’s secluded beaches for lunch, swimming and time to relax.

This is not a fixed sightseeing circuit. It is a genuine sea kayaking journey, with the route carefully chosen by our guides to give you the safest and most enjoyable experience on the day.

Common questions

Do I need previous kayaking experience?

No — this trip is designed for beginners. If you can swim and are reasonably active, you’ll be fine. We coach you the whole way.

How big are the groups?

Small and personal — a maximum 1:6 guide-to-paddler ratio, up to 8 (min. 2) guests, so you get real coaching and a better experience.

What equipment is provided?

Everything technical — Tiderace kayaks, Werner & GearLab paddles, Palm buoyancy aids, spraydecks, dry bags, snorkelling and full safety gear. You just bring the personal items on our What to Bring list.

When can I do this trip?

Season: Nov–May. Tell us your dates and we’ll match you to the right departure — or arrange a private group booking.

Is it safe?

Safety comes first. Buoyancy aids are worn at all times, our guides are qualified and first-aid trained, every multi-day trip begins with a familiarisation day, and we carry full safety and repair kit.

How do I book?

Booking is a conversation, not a checkout. Message us on WhatsApp, LINE or email. A 25% deposit secures your place; the balance is due at least 6 weeks before you paddle.
